Welcome to

BISHOP EDWARD GAINES CATHOLIC SCHOOL

We are a special character school catering for learners in Years 1-8. All learners are encouraged to be confident and active participants in their learning, to be effective communicators and to strive for excellence, while getting to know and love God. We believe strongly in the philosophy of hauora, where our learning programmes are designed to nurture each aspect of our learner’s intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions: Taha Hinengaro ~ Taha Tinana ~ Taha Whānau ~ Taha Wairua.

Please see information attached for:

Tricking: a movement sport that blends kicks, flips and spins from martial arts, gymnastics, and breakdancing. There's no grading; tamariki build skills at their own pace and put them together into their own style.

Pickleball Foundation for Kids: pickleball is a fast, easy-to-learn racquet sport played on a small court with a paddle and a light plastic ball. It's one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and rallies start from day one, so tamariki are playing properly within their first session.

Open Play Sessions a safe indoor space for our youngest tamariki to move, climb and play, with soft equipment set out and caregivers staying alongside. Ideal for pre-schoolers and for younger siblings around school pick-up.

Families can get in touch on 07 885 1059 or sportsandevents@southwaikato.govt.nz to register.
